We are in Hong Kong

We arrived in Hong Kong at 8:00 pm today, and are exhausted, especially after the last 16 hour nonstop flight from Newark to Hong Kong. Sebastian is still sick, but getting better. We are seriously overwhelmed by everything, including about the huge show of support of our friends and family. Anyway, see you soon, today I am too tired after literally sleeping 6 hours ring the past 2 days. Only 3 more days til we meet Gabriela.

Off to China and a new updated picture of Ms. Gabi

Today we woke up at 3:30 am and were at the airport by 4:10 am. Almost lost our flight due to a security situation at the airport. Were the last ones to get into the plane because our carry on was really checked because of all the meds for Gabi and Seba, who is still a bit sick.
We are very excited especially since an angel friend from my beloved FB China adoption group ia right now in China and sent me a picture taken of Gabi just yesterday. We are over the moon, especially because our friend was told that Gabi was quite content, healthy and had a reputation of being somewhat wild.Lol! We are coming my baby. To get this picture especially today means quite a lot.
This is our picture taken today at the airport. Now at Newark. Our flight leaves at 3:15 and we arrive in HK at 7:00 am Puerto Rico time.

Two more days and now i am going Crazy

Only 2 more days and I am now officially crazy. My maternity leave has begun. Still have to finish billing but almost there. Sebastian on the othwr hand has a throat infection which sucks but i am sure our little guy will get better by Wednesday and his fever will go down.

Only 3 more days to go!

We are leaving in only 3 days.  Our packing is going so and so, especially after we got installed a split unit in our room on Friday, the installer messed up and ended up creating a beautiful hole in the wall between our room and Gabi's room.  Oh, and did I mention that the cement from the hole got into Gabi's already set to go crib.  Yep.  So, we pretty much spent Friday night and Saturday morning on clean up mode.  Plus all of the cement dust in the house meant that yesterday Sebastian woke up with a stuffy nose, which we did not need before this trip.
On a positive note, Sebastian's suitcase is ready to go.  Today I will tackle the rest.  We are also taking a luggage weight scale because in international flights we have a limit of 50 pounds for the suitcase, but for the 4 In China flights that we have to take throughout our trip, it will be a 44 pound per person limit.  The interesting fact is that it appears that they don't really care about either limit in numbers or weight of the carry ons.

Only 5 days to go

For those of you who know about Sebas countdown, here it is. Every day he changes the number. I am sure that he will be the best bigger brother ever.

Only 6 more days to go!!!

Only 6 more days to go before we leave for China on Wednesday.  We are now in the final stretch.  For those wondering, this will be our basic itinerary in China.  We leave on August 22 from SJU to Newark, stopoever of 5 years, and then direct flight to Hong Kong, where we arrive on August 23 at 7 pm.  There is a 12 time difference between Puerto Rico and Hong Kong.  We stay in Hong Kong for 2 nights, and then fly on August 25th from Hong Kong- Guanghzou and then Guangzhou-Nanchang, which is the province where our Gabriela lives.  Gabriela actually lives around 3 hours from the capital city of Jiangxi, Nanchang, which is why we are meeting her at our hotel, which is where the babies are being taken on the afternoon of Sunday August 26th, which is finally the Meet Gabriela Day.  We stay in Nanchang until August 31, when we taken another plane,this time to Guangzhou, which is where the US Consulate is.  We will stay there until September 5, when we take the train to Hong Kong, stay overnight and fly on the 6th to Newark, stay overnight and on September 7, we fly from NY to Puerto Rico.  Therefore, we will arrive as a family of 4 to Puerto Rico on the day of both Florencio's and mine 40th birthday.  What a wonderful gift!!! The best!!!

Cannot wait, but there are so many things that we have to do yet.  We are coming baby!

Only 9 more days to get on a plane to China.  Bring it on!!!
